Hendry County is conducting a Project Development and Environment (PD&E) Study to evaluate options for a new corridor connecting SR 80 to CR 78 including a bridge over the Caloosahatchee River, locally known as the Okeechobee Waterway, in northwestern Hendry County. The project study area is defined as from the Hendry/Lee county line on the west to Fort Denaud Road on the east, and from SR 80 on the south to CR 78 on the north.
